2. Chembara Peak

Chembara Peak is situated at 6,900 ft, Chembra Peak is popular amongst tourists, adventure enthusiast trekkers, and nature lovers.

For trekking, seek permission passes from the Forest Department. Considering the safety of trekkers and the preservation of rich wildlife, it’s possible to get the pass.

It’s quite an adventurous climb. One can ascend the top of the peak within two hours of trekking through the dense forests and grasslands.

3. Edakkal Caves

Located around 25 kilometers from Kalpetta, the Edakkal Caves lie on the remote island of Edakkal. The caves are among the prominent tourist hotspots in South India. It is renowned for its paintings of humans, animals, symbols, and letters. These paintings are believed to date back to 6000 BC.

4. Pookode Lake

Tucked between the evergreen forests and wooded slopes, Pookode Lake is a natural freshwater lake located around 2 km away from Vythiri. Known as one of the prettiest lakes in the Wayanad, Pookode Lake is also known as Pookot Lake. It can be accessed through roadways and is an excellent place for an outing with your family and loved ones.

Apart from the natural view, one can enjoy boating, seeing the freshwater aquarium, shopping for handicrafts, or just strolling around it.

5. Meenmutty Waterfalls

With a height of 984 feet, Meenmutty Waterfalls is the second highest waterfall in Kerala. Beautifully nestled amidst the dense green area of Mepadi forest range, under the South Wayanad forest division, at Chitragiri on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The waterfall is divided into three tiers, each measuring a length of 300 feet.

6. Banasura Sagar Dam

Here, the view is at its best during the monsoon season. One can witness small islands in the dam reservoir during the monsoon with the green mountain range in the backdrop leaving you awestruck.
